KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- Police have switched to nocturnal operations to trace the whereabouts of 11-year-old Muhamad Asmawi Jalaludin who has been reported missing since March 9.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman said the move to conduct such searches followed intelligence which revealed that Asmawi was known to have spent several nights at the homes of close friends.
"We are focusing on housing estates in Pantai Dalam, Dataran Merdeka, KL Sentral, under bridges, video game centres, mosques and bus stations," he told reporters here today.
He said police classified Asmawi's case as missing from family custody, not abduction.
Asmawi, a primary five student of Sekolah Kebangsaan La Salle, Brickfields was reported missing on the way home from a playground near his house in Jalan Permai Tujuh.
