In conjunction with the blessedly day of Maal Hijrah, Jazimin and Norazian today hosted a Tahlil Prayers for their demised daughter Nurin Jazlin at their new neighbourhood's surau.
Some 30 to 40 attendees comprising neighbours and family members graced the event seeking Allah's blessings for both the dead and those alive.
Included in the attendance was a journalist from a local media, so as usual, Jazimin's views were again sought for multiple issues especially now that another child was reported missing.
Jazimin in his response expressed his gladness that there seem to be a changed approach in handling cases of missing child. He noted that immediate actions were taken by the Police upon receipt of missing child report filed by the parents.
Not only the authorities reacted promptly, the mass media also took up the news on the missing child almost immediately and by now almost everyone in the country are aware of the missing child whom had went missing just yesterday.
He regretted that such urgent response was not the modus operandi when Nurin went missing. Nevertheless, the public benefits from the Nurin tragedy as everyone involved had learnt their respective lessons.
On suggestions that the photofit image of the suspect does not differ much from the Nurin's suspect photofit, Jazimin exclaimed that if the two suspects are one and the same, then it is only justifiable for the authorities to intensify their efforts to haul the psycho maniac serial abductor cum killer on an urgent and aggressive approach.
Keeping a file open for 10 or 20 years is meaningless, what is important is the investigations towards finding the culprit be carried out as intense as when the file was first opened.
He also told the journalist that since the country is no longer safe for children, the authorities must work out for some workable scheme to assist the lower waged rakyat in ensuring the safety of their children. To blame parents for being "negligent" each and every time an incident like this takes place is easy but it is simply baseless and unfair. What needed to be done now is to return the country to what it was before, a safe country where nobody is paranoid of their safety like what we are experiencing now.
He also asked the journalist to check with the authorities on what was happening to the autopsy pictures distribution case. No one seem to be addressing to the matter though brought up several times now. He neede to know the actual status of the case before deciding on his next action on the matter.
